Nestled near the border of Selangor about 35km away from Kuala Lumpur, Genting represents a popular weekend getaway from KL, connected by highways, roads, and cable car.
Since 1971, Genting Highlands has remained Malaysia's only legal gambling outfit - its mini Las Vegas on a mountaintop. While the casinos are central to Genting Highlands, a theme park provides fun rides and activities for adults and children alike, while SkyAvenue and First World Plaza are colourful shopping complexes with restaurants, entertainment, and boutique outlets.
