You have probably walked into a BIG or CARiNG Pharmacy this month. Now you can own a piece of one.
Malaysia's largest pharmacy chain is listing on Bursa's Main Market on 19 November 2026, and retail applications close at 5pm, 5 November.
1. The Undisputed No. 1
BCG is Malaysia's largest pharmacy retailer by revenue, licensed pharmacies and licensed pharmacists. It holds a 24.2% market share (2025) with 668 outlets, and is the only chain present in all 13 states and three Federal Territories.
2. Riding Malaysia's Ageing Wave
Frost & Sullivan expects retail pharmacy sales to grow 8.7% a year from 2025 to 2030, and organised chains even faster at 12.1%. An ageing population and rising healthcare spending make this a defensive, long-term growth story.
3. Fastest-Growing Chain in the Country
Revenue jumped from RM1.11 billion in FY2023 to RM4.02 billion in FY2026, a 53.6% CAGR. It is not all acquisitions: Same-store sales grew 7.3%, 9.6% and 7.3% in the last three years. Next up, 40 to 50 new stores a year and a 7% to 9% same-store growth target.
4. Bigger and More Profitable
Scale is paying off. Gross margin widened from 20.9% to 30.1% and EBITDA margin from 9.6% to 13.7% between FY2023 and FY2026. Profit after tax rose more than 5x, from RM41.2 million to RM231.8 million.
5. The only Vertically Integrated Pharmacy on Bursa
BCG does not just sell medicine. It makes it (Sungai Buloh plant), imports and distributes it (Medispec), and offers physiotherapy and tele-consultation. Own-brand products and 7.9 million registered members give it pricing power that rivals lack.
6. Debt Down, Dividends Up
89.5% of the RM637.8 million raised (RM570.7 million) goes to repaying bank borrowings within 3 months of listing. FY2026 finance costs were RM88.5 million, so the savings should flow straight to earnings. BCG also targets a dividend payout of up to 50% of net profit.
7. Smart Money is Already In
19 cornerstone investors have committed to 665.5 million shares, 96.2% of the non-Bumiputera institutional tranche. The list includes JPMorgan Asset Management, Fidelity (FIL), the World Bank's IFC, abrdn, Eastspring and Principal. And at RM1.08, the RM8.0 billion valuation is well below the RM11-12 billion the market was guessing in May. The shares are also Shariah-compliant.
Before you apply!
At 41.5x earnings, BCG is not cheap, and gearing is high at 3.1x before the IPO. About two-thirds of the IPO shares (1.29 billion) are sold by existing shareholders, mainly Creador and the founders, and their remaining stakes are locked up for only six months.
