Maybank: How to switch between individual and sole proprietor access on the MAE app?

Aiyo... Is it due to many complaints received earlier? This should be the way when implementing access from day one. You know lah, many people got multiple Maybank accounts (individual and sole proprietor).

Prior to this, Maybank required a person to have multiple devices because of the change.

No worries. Now Maybank already noted and below is the new feature to solve this issue.

The New Feature!

Maybank customers with individual access and sole proprietor access will be able to link, unlink and switch between their multiple accesses on one device via the MAE app.

Multiple access linking allows you to seamlessly transition between your sole proprietor M2U accounts and your individual M2U account without having to switch between devices, simplifying the management of different accounts.

Meaning, Maybank customers who have both individual and sole proprietor accesses can link multiple accesses to their MAE app.

How to link multiple accesses on one device?
  1. Launch the MAE app
  2. Follow any of the entry points listed below:
    a. Settings > Switch
    b. Settings > Maybank2u > Manage M2U Access
    c. Accounts > Tap on ‘…’ on the top right of the screen > Link or Switch M2U Access
  3. Tap on the ‘Link M2U access’ button.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions, tap ‘Done’ and you’ve successfully linked a new M2U ID access!

How to unlink any access?
  1. Launch the MAE app
  2. Follow any of the entry points listed below:
    a. Settings > Switch
    b. Settings > Maybank2u > Manage M2U Access
    c. Accounts > Tap on the ‘…’ on the top right of the screen > Link or Switch M2U Access
  3. Tap on the 3 dots at the top right of the screen.
  4. Choose which M2U access you want to unlink and tap ‘x’.
  5. Tap ‘Confirm’ and you’ve successfully unlinked an access!

Do I need to activate Secure2u again?

Yes, you will need to activate Secure2u again via ATM and go through a minimum 12-hour cooling-off period, for each new access added. This will only be applicable for the first time.

It is highly recommended that you link all your accesses and go through the Secure2u registration for all your accounts at the same time as this will reduce the waiting time for the Secure2u approval.

Bonus: Actually, all this hassle started due to the implementation of Secure2u earlier. Why SecureTAC is better than SMS TAC? Click here to read.
