Did you know that some of the biggest global companies are being led by those born in Malaysia? 👀
That’s right — while we’re busy debating nasi lemak vs. roti canai, these trailblazers are out there running billion-dollar corporations and shaping industries worldwide.
Let’s talk about the Malaysian-born CEOs who are making it big on the global stage.
We start with the latest addition ~ Lip-Bu Tan. This Muar (Johor) born tech wizard was appointed as the CEO of Intel, one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies.
With decades of experience in the tech industry, Tan is now tasked with steering Intel through one of its most challenging periods. Talk about a high-stakes job!

Then there’s Tan Hock Eng, the CEO of Broadcom Inc., a global leader in semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions.
Born in Malaysia, Penang specifically, Tan has been named the highest-paid CEO in the U.S. multiple times. Under his leadership, Broadcom has grown into a tech powerhouse, and his story is a testament to how far Malaysian talent can go.

And let’s not forget Anthony Tan, the co-founder and former CEO of Grab, who was born in Malaysia also.
What started as a ride-hailing app in Malaysia has now become Southeast Asia’s first decacorn (a company valued at over $10 billion).
Grab is a true global player, offering everything from food delivery to digital payments, and Anthony’s vision has been central to its success.

The rise of Malaysian-born CEOs in global companies is more than just a feel-good story — it’s a reminder that talent knows no borders. Whether it’s Silicon Valley or Wall Street, Malaysians are proving that they can compete and lead on the world’s biggest stages.
Who’s next?
Maybe it’s you, or someone you know. After all, if Lip-Bu Tan, Tan Hock Eng, and Anthony Tan can do it, why not the next generation of Malaysians?
