[PLUS Chinese New Year 50% Rebate] Why many people fed up with it?

In conjunction with the upcoming Lunar New Year holidays, operator of the North-South Expressway (NSE), PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) has identified several strategies to distribute traffic and strengthen its highway operations to assist the public to enjoy a smoother journey on the mainline.

Based on previous festive seasons travelling patterns, PLUS expects traffic on the NSE will be at its peak on 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st January as well as 4th and 5th February.

50 Percent Toll Rebate

PLUS will be offering 50% toll rebate to Class 1 vehicles paying toll via PLUSMiles cards, Touch 'n Go cards and SmartTAGs on the NSE and ELITE highway on 27 January, 30 January, 3 February and 4 February. The rebate is offered to those paying toll between 12 am and 6 am on the designated dates.
Comment: "Hello, PLUS... Your good intention may become a nightmare for many families. Midnight until 6am? You must be kidding. Are you asking us to travel in night time (very early morning actually) when most likely we feel sleepy and can't see the road clearly? It's dangerous bro..."

On these designated days, electronic paying users are still required to pay the normal toll rates before the rebate is credited into their electronic cards (in a form of toll reloads) when they top-up their cards at PLUS customer service centres between 15 February and 14 May 2017.
Comment: "Hello, PLUS again... Can't you make it simpler? I believe most of us reload our TnG card via various ways (etc. petrol stations, convenience shops, online...) and NOT PLUS customer service centres."

However, the toll rebate will not be applied to toll transactions at Penang Bridge, Tanjung Kupang, Bukit Kayu Hitam and Sultan Iskandar Building toll plazas.

Have a safe journey ahead !!!

  1. Hello there! If I enter highway between 12am to 6am, but exit after 6am, will I still be eligible for 50% discount? Many thanks for clarification!
